STATEMENT DEFINED

The teaching style I use is adult learner facilitation method, better known as andragogy.

It is the incorporation of adult egos that we all express based on our learning styles cultivated as we grew up. These varying backgrounds in adult learning environments provide stimulating challenges that are not to be denied or repressed, but rather to be cultivated through practicum and encouragement.

In essence, the point is to provide less of the instructor and more opportunity for adult learners to express their own understanding and/or confusion so that they not only benefit from the instructor’s knowledge and expertise, but also from witnessing their peers’ comprehension and opinions. Mixed with real-world case studies and opportunities for oral presentations and group activities, the adult learner in my classroom is gifted the chance to have practical knowledge to accompany the theoretical.
